My husband and I were married here last month, and what an incredible experience! Pat, the owner, was so wonderful and helpful from beginning to end. The venue couldn’t be more beautiful, and what a history there as well!
Beautiful location for a wedding on the Waccamaw River. They have a large outdoor reception area and a dance floor on the riverfront. There are a lot of large oak trees that give great shade for pictures. There is also a friendly white horse that will pose for pictures.

My daughter got married at Upper Mill a few months ago. What a wonderful facility and what wonderful host's and support the staff lends. Even with inclement weather we went to plan B which was also a complete success. I sincerely thank Upper Mill for all they did to make this wedding wonderful

First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
