From the reviews
I had the honor of photographing Vanessa and Ben’s stunning fall wedding here. I can’t recommend this location enough! Prospect Park comes alive with vibrant autumn colors, making it a breathtaking backdrop for any celebration.
We loved getting married in the Picnic House! Prospect Park is our favorite place in the city, it's meaningful doing it there where we get to visit so often and being among all our neighbors enjoying the park! The space on the inside is elegant and spacious, we fit 150 people there no problem.
Had our wedding here 8 years ago. For about 100 people, this venue is perfect. Caters we chose (not sure if they’re still around) were good, but the park staff in particular was very easy to work with. We live not too far now so we visit the park often and love reminiscing.
Just got married here. This venue is amazing. With a 60 guest wedding the interior was wonderfully spacious, with room for a great dance floor. The views and surroundings are similarly stunning.
Getting married at The Picnic House in Prospect Park
The Picnic House in Prospect Park comes up for weddings, going by their listing and couples’ reviews. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
