From the reviews
My husband and I got married at The Notch House on August 24, 2024. This venue is just something you need to experience yourself. It is magical, beautiful, and the most peaceful place to stay. The entire property is extremely clean, orderly, and managed by an amazing woman.
I had my wedding here this September and it was the perfect place for it! The house itself was great for my wedding party to stay in and I love the decor of the rooms.
Our wedding at The Notch House on Lake Willoughby was nothing short of a fairytale. With 125 guests in attendance, we all fit comfortably on this enchanting property. The serene beauty of the location, nestled between Mount Pisgah and Mount Hor, created the most picturesque backdrop for our celebration.
We had our wedding on 6/24/23 and it was absolutely perfect in every way, thanks in large part to the Notch House and their team. It is a cozy, intimate venue that has the features you need to execute a well-coordinated event.
Getting married at The Notch House
The Notch House comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
Corporate events & private parties at The Notch House
Reviews and the venue's own info mention corporate events, retreats, or private parties at The Notch House — barn venues often have real weekday availability since weddings claim the weekends. A quick call answers the three things that matter: weekday and off-season rates, whether the space works for your headcount and A/V needs, and what catering is allowed. If your event lands on a Friday or Saturday in wedding season, ask early.
