Beautiful manor house that makes for an amazing wedding venue. I had the pleasure and the privilege to photograph a wedding here, and boy, is it beautiful. Weddings take place literally in the thick of the history and it makes for a cinematic looking experience.
What an amazing property and history. A sublime unsung hero in Boston's history. Well worth the time to visit. Maybe I'll have my next wedding here!
Photographing this wedding at Stonehurst was a deeply inspiring experience. The architecture and landscape naturally shaped the way I approached the day with my camera.
We attended a wedding there and had use of the whole main floor and grounds. The wedding was catered. Lots of largd rooms for the wedding ceremony, large rooms for buffet set up, thete was a large room set up for sit down eating. Large back balcony for a group photo. Side room was used as the bar room.
Getting married at Stonehurst, the Robert Treat Paine Estate
Stonehurst, the Robert Treat Paine Estate comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
