From the reviews
Lowndes Grove is a beautiful place (from what we got to see of it). This is Tanney Hill (Sarah & Rafe Cameron's house) from Outer Banks. That is the dock where the boat exploded. I wished we could have gone in and seen everything. I'm pretty sure they were setting up for a wedding when we got there.
Absolutely beautiful place for a wedding. They could have been more prepared for the blazing hot sun and the heat though. They had like 5 umbrellas, which only covered part of the audience for the wedding so I was sitting in the direct sun. Why not blanket the chairs?
I had my wedding at Lowndes Grove last weekend, and it truly could not have been a more perfect day. Everything from the catering and bar services, to the planning services, to the stunning views, to the spectacular sunset, to the gorgeous house onsite, and everything in between is superb.
Just as beautiful as it was 23 years ago when we had our wedding reception at Lowndes Grove. We were able to visit with our children while they were setting up for this afternoon's wedding. Thanks for giving us access, Jillian! We recreated a couple of the photos from our reception.
Getting married at Lowndes Grove
Lowndes Grove comes up for weddings, going by their listing and couples’ reviews. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
