The setting
“In the summer check out the inside of the historical Wagner house to see a day in the life inside the home on a farm; bread being baked and kneaded on an old fashioned stove.”
“A great place for kids to see farm animals, a nice playground with slides, corn steps, sand pit and an interactive farmer’s market setup for the littles to be engaged.”

From the reviews
Experience the last working farm in cook county as part of the Glenview Park District at Wagner Farm. In the spring summer and fall, enjoy seeing multiple animals living on the farm.
Built in 1850’s, the farm is currently managed by Glenview Park District and the farm is still functional. There is a huge parking lot opposite the farm( need to cross the road). They sell fresh eggs here. Lovely place to spend time, and enjoying the farm life.
Nice little farm, with chicken, pigs, a veal, horses and cows. You can see them milk the cows in the morning and at 4pm. The animals are friendly and you can pet most of them when they come close. They have a playground, which is nice for the kids as well.
Back in October a week before Halloween I visited this farm and I would be happy to share my experience. They have a variety of animals ranging from chicks to horses and this farm is not only a place for animals but it is also a place of history, because one of their houses is “haunted” which really makes it kinda…
Getting married at Historic Wagner Farm
Historic Wagner Farm comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
Corporate events & private parties at Historic Wagner Farm
Reviews and the venue's own info mention corporate events, retreats, or private parties at Historic Wagner Farm — barn venues often have real weekday availability since weddings claim the weekends. A quick call answers the three things that matter: weekday and off-season rates, whether the space works for your headcount and A/V needs, and what catering is allowed. If your event lands on a Friday or Saturday in wedding season, ask early.
