From the reviews
The main house was built by John Hopkins in 1840 and is still owned by his decedents to this day. The property though, goes back to the beginnings of Greenville's history. The American Revolutionary Battle of Cane Break was fought on the land in 1775 and was also used by militia several times after, up until the 1860s.
My experience with Hopkins Farm was the best experience! From the start, Carol was amazing and gave us a wonderful tour of the venue and I was impressed with her professionalism and punctuality. Carol was always very helpful and nothing short of amazing.
This place had amazing scenery and wonderful people. This restrooms were well taken care of, and everything else was free to creative design for me and my family. Would definitely recommend for event or wedding planning.
BEAUTIFUL Historic venue! The tour of this place was amazing and Carol was very friendly and informative! If you are looking for a wonderfully picturesque venue this is the place! Carol and her family have done an amazing job with this place!
Getting married at Historic Hopkins Farm
Historic Hopkins Farm comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
Corporate events & private parties at Historic Hopkins Farm
Reviews and the venue's own info mention corporate events, retreats, or private parties at Historic Hopkins Farm — barn venues often have real weekday availability since weddings claim the weekends. A quick call answers the three things that matter: weekday and off-season rates, whether the space works for your headcount and A/V needs, and what catering is allowed. If your event lands on a Friday or Saturday in wedding season, ask early.
