From the reviews
Gould Barn is a "newer" historic building in Topsfield, constructed in the late 1990s containing some lumber and beams from the original 1710 Gould Barn that was built about a mile away from its current location. It is similar in construction to the original Parson Capen barn that was located on this property.
Beautiful , rustic setting and great for almost any size party. We have had birthdays, baby showers, graduation parties, etc. here. Two individual restrooms, cook-in kitchen, tables and chairs available to use. Audio equipment also available. Plenty of parking too! Must clean up after event and remove all trash.
I had an amazing experience with the barn , We had our dream wedding and the place was perfect !! Martha helped so much with everything and every question. We were so happy. We used inside for the ceremony and outside for food and tables and tend.
Our wedding at this venue was absolutely perfect, and we couldn’t have asked for a better or more affordable option. Getting married at Gould Barn - Topsfield Historical Society
Gould Barn - Topsfield Historical Society comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
Corporate events & private parties at Gould Barn - Topsfield Historical Society
Reviews and the venue's own info mention corporate events, retreats, or private parties at Gould Barn - Topsfield Historical Society — barn venues often have real weekday availability since weddings claim the weekends. A quick call answers the three things that matter: weekday and off-season rates, whether the space works for your headcount and A/V needs, and what catering is allowed. If your event lands on a Friday or Saturday in wedding season, ask early.
