From the reviews
A truly unforgettable Charleston experience. The Avenue of Oaks alone is worth the trip — that quarter-mile canopy of moss-draped trees is even more breathtaking in person than in The Notebook. But Boone Hall delivers far more than a photo op.
Boone Hall Plantation is absolutely beautiful! The Avenue of Oaks is worth the ticket price by itself. I spent a fantastic day here, enjoying the tractor tour and the beautiful gardens.
We only had the time to visit one plantation home while in Savannah and I chose to visit Boone Hall over the others because of the live presentations they offer, beautiful garden and infamous drive up to the house - which was absolutely breathtaking!
If you’re in Charleston, this is a must-see. The Boone Hall Plantation is both absolutely gorgeous and sobering given its history of slavery. The exhibits are spectacular and there is plenty to do for the whole family. If you enjoy history, there is plenty of that.
Getting married at Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens
Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
Corporate events & private parties at Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens
Reviews and the venue's own info mention corporate events, retreats, or private parties at Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens — barn venues often have real weekday availability since weddings claim the weekends. A quick call answers the three things that matter: weekday and off-season rates, whether the space works for your headcount and A/V needs, and what catering is allowed. If your event lands on a Friday or Saturday in wedding season, ask early.
