Two days after the Second Continental Congress unanimously adopted the Declaration of Independence, announcing the colonies' separation from Great Britain, Westcroft Gardens was officially established on the island of Grosse Ille, July 6th, 1776, making it the oldest farm in Michigan’s history.
A hidden historical gem. Established on July 6th, 1776, Westcroft Gardens is nearly 250 years old! The amount of love that has been poured into this land, from the countless plants to the countless weddings and everything in between, it is such a place of beauty and peace.

Westcroft Gardens & Farm team and grounds helped provide a truly unforgettable experience for our wedding! They also hosted my sister and brother-in-laws’ wedding which was equally incredible. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge.
