We live in Michigan and have always had a deep love for national parks, so when it came time to plan our wedding, we knew we wanted a location that captured that natural beauty. That’s how we found The River Place—and the moment I saw their website, I instantly fell in love.
We've had our Christmas Party for work at The River Place the last several years. Devynn is always super responsive and accommodating. The venue is beautiful and spacious, with lots of tables and chairs for banquet or table seating. There are lots of different lights so you can create different moods.
We had the most amazing experience with The River Place for our wedding on April 18, 2026. From the very beginning, they were so responsive, helpful, and easy/amazing to work with! They truly worked with us on everything and made the entire planning process feel smooth and stress-free.
We had a wonderful experience using this venue. We needed a venue for a small anniversary party we were hosting. We only needed it for a few hours (and not the whole day) and this place charged by the hour with very fair pricing. The location is beautiful—it has mountain views and it is right next to the river.

First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge.
