From the reviews
Meryl and Erica are so beyond amazing to work with. We genuinely felt so welcomed with the Prairie Star hosting our wedding. My husband and I were approached by COUNTLESS guests talking about how beautiful the wedding was and how STUNNING the views were.
I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and accommodating venue for my brother and new sister- in -law's rehearsal dinner than Prairie Star. The venue itself is stunning, with breathtaking views and a rustic charm that perfectly suited our celebration.
Held our Annual Deacon Day Retreat here in November. We had 15 in attendance. The kitchen, restrooms, and meeting area were excellent. Very spacious, great areas for break our sessions, and the views were so peaceful. Exactly what our leaders needed. Nor too dar our of town, either, for the elder councilmen.
We had our wedding ceremony at The Prairie Star, and it was truly everything we could have hoped for—and more. Meryl and Erica were incredible to work with from start to finish: so helpful, accommodating, and genuinely invested in making our day special.
Getting married at The Prairie Star
The Prairie Star comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
Corporate events & private parties at The Prairie Star
Reviews and the venue's own info mention corporate events, retreats, or private parties at The Prairie Star — barn venues often have real weekday availability since weddings claim the weekends. A quick call answers the three things that matter: weekday and off-season rates, whether the space works for your headcount and A/V needs, and what catering is allowed. If your event lands on a Friday or Saturday in wedding season, ask early.
