From the reviews
I had to put together a quick graduation, Christmas, meet-the-family, birthday, start-of-a-new-chapter celebration for our youngest daughter at The Oak Room Friedhof Building in Columbus, Nebraska (the only place suitable) on DECEMBER 23, 2023 with only a couple of weeks notice!!
Oh, my goodness!! What a fabulous, community-minded local venue! It's sparkling clean with an attentive and helpful staff. They hosted an amazing fundraiser evening for expenses after the 2019 Spring flooding at Izaak Walton (and the rest of the state!!). Thanks to all who patronized the Oak Room that evening!
We had a great experience with hosting our wedding reception at the Oak Room! The Gaspers were awesome to work with in terms of scheduling and decorating the space. Everything turned out perfect, would highly recommend for any event!
Beautiful place to have any party or wedding. Such a great staff and they take care of all of your needs. This is the place to have your party or special event. Very clean and the staff is awesome. Highly recommend!!
Getting married at The Oak Room of Columbus
The Oak Room of Columbus comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
Corporate events & private parties at The Oak Room of Columbus
Reviews and the venue's own info mention corporate events, retreats, or private parties at The Oak Room of Columbus — barn venues often have real weekday availability since weddings claim the weekends. A quick call answers the three things that matter: weekday and off-season rates, whether the space works for your headcount and A/V needs, and what catering is allowed. If your event lands on a Friday or Saturday in wedding season, ask early.
