From the reviews
We loved this venue. It was beautiful, surrounded by Redwoods, a great layout of for ceremony to reception, and the BEST food. Some things to note about the venue: There is no amplified music outside, which means if you want music during the ceremony and cocktail hour, you need to hire string musicians.
A six star review This venue deserves more than five stars—it was a six-star experience! From the stunning setting to the excellent staff, our wedding day was absolutely perfect. Tips for a Perfect Day If you are planning your wedding here, my strongest advice is to rent the cottage.
We got married in this absolutely stunning venue in July. We were initially attracted to this venue due to its location - somewhat convenient for the bay area, located along the Skyline so the weather stays cool in the summer, and surrounded by the redwood and sequoia trees that are meaningful to us.
When searching for a wedding venue, we had three main wishes: something inherently California, a “backyard” vibe, and natural beauty. The moment we walked into The Mountain Terrace, surrounded by stunning redwoods, we knew it was the one—and booked our date right away.
Getting married at The Mountain Terrace
The Mountain Terrace comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
Corporate events & private parties at The Mountain Terrace
Reviews and the venue's own info mention corporate events, retreats, or private parties at The Mountain Terrace — barn venues often have real weekday availability since weddings claim the weekends. A quick call answers the three things that matter: weekday and off-season rates, whether the space works for your headcount and A/V needs, and what catering is allowed. If your event lands on a Friday or Saturday in wedding season, ask early.
