From the reviews
My husband and I got married at The Barn at Big Oak this past weekend and it was a wonderful experience. I hear all the time about how something will go wrong on your wedding day, but ours went so smooth, it was incredible. The staff treated us as family and helped make our big day the best day of our lives.
My experience as a guest at a wedding was great! It was August in Georgia, so about 90 degrees out. The chapel where the ceremony took place had tons of ceiling fans, so we were pretty comfortable there. There were fans and a few portable a/c units throughout the reception area, so not too bad there either.
Super quaint venue for a rustic wedding! The coordinator and staff are really kind and organized and help keep things moving. I was the photographer for a wedding here and was impressed with their property - they keep the grounds well manicured and they even allow for guests to decorate things their own way.
Not too far off the beaten path, but secluded enough to allow for an 88 decibel celebration, The Barn at Big Oak was open and spacey for the Long's wedding this weekend. Located in Heard County (near Hwy 34), this venue was a delight. The ceremony was held in a covered chapel, cooled by quiet overhead fans.
Getting married at The Barn at Big Oak
The Barn at Big Oak comes up for weddings, going by their listing and couples’ reviews. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
