From the reviews
This is a great place for a mental break. I stopped here on a whim and ended up spending two hours. There are lots of little (short) trails to explore that are interconnected; each has its charm. Dog Wood is beautiful and quaint, lots of great smells and sounds. It was short, but my favorite.
Great park. Miles of hiking trails. Areas to do birding as well. Usually not very busy. You can park either at the Holland Rd. Lot or at the Red Hill Rd lot. Both locations have a bathroom. Red Hill Rd lot has a playground.
Nice 5+ miles trail with around 200ft elevation gain. Trail can get confusing at time so highly recommend to use a trail map / app. June onwards there are lot of nice flowers on the trail. I love the sweet smell of flowers during summer months.
The park is a reliable option to get your weekly dose of fall hiking. Variety of trails to enjoy hilly woods trails or meadow walks. Note that archery deer hunting is permitted from Oct 1 almost everywhere in the park.
Getting married at Tatum Park
Tatum Park comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
Corporate events & private parties at Tatum Park
Reviews and the venue's own info mention corporate events, retreats, or private parties at Tatum Park — barn venues often have real weekday availability since weddings claim the weekends. A quick call answers the three things that matter: weekday and off-season rates, whether the space works for your headcount and A/V needs, and what catering is allowed. If your event lands on a Friday or Saturday in wedding season, ask early.
