I had the unfathomable good fortune to spend a weekend with friends at Switzer Farm, and it is hard to describe the beauty and majesty of the restored Victorian farmhouse itself, the Mendocino coastline, and the pleasure of the experience (unfathomable!).
My wife and I were married here this September. It would be hard to imagine a more perfect wedding venue - there is something magical about this house and property, we will never forget our time there.
We recently had our wedding at Switzer Farm and it was beyond magical! The house, property, and everything that surrounds it is drop dead gorgeous. The detail put into the house itself is incredible - it is a dreamy place to get to stay for a few days! You won't want to leave. We lucked out with October weather.

Getting married at Switzer Farm

First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
