From the reviews
I attended a wedding ceremony today at this gazebo type structure at Central Park. It was originally built as a shelter at the time the park was designed as a refuge from the city. Now it is used for recreational purposes.
The ‘Treehouse For Dreaming ‘ (Aka ‘The Dene Summer House’) is a wonderful spot in Central Park. A natural wooden gazebo, on top of a hill. The perfect place for daydreaming or for a little bit of bird / people watching ;)). It's also a very romantic spot.
A beautiful spot for weddings and photo shoots! It's a little small and often gets crowded with tourist or people just chilling by. Something to consider if you're planning to do a photoshoot here!
My long time friend's wedding venue! Its such a nice garden wedding. The view of central park was amazing! Never knew I'd fall in love with central park allover again ☺️💕
Getting married at Summerhouse at the Dene
Summerhouse at the Dene comes up for weddings, going by their listing and couples’ reviews. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
Corporate events & private parties at Summerhouse at the Dene
Reviews and the venue's own info mention corporate events, retreats, or private parties at Summerhouse at the Dene — barn venues often have real weekday availability since weddings claim the weekends. A quick call answers the three things that matter: weekday and off-season rates, whether the space works for your headcount and A/V needs, and what catering is allowed. If your event lands on a Friday or Saturday in wedding season, ask early.
