I've worked in this industry as a DJ for some 15 years. I've seen a good many barns. Too many use lipstick to make the barn barely clean. Not The Barn at Silver Oaks Estate. These people did it right from the start.
I came across the Barn at Silver Oaks through Instagram (many years ago now), along with many many other venues. However, there was something truly unique about THIS barn, and I continued to watch many couples get married over the years telling myself that I (no fiancé yet!) would some day join them.
I am so glad I was hired to photograph a July wedding at this venue! The wedding was flawless and the staff was so incredibly good at their job. They take so much pride in their work and every single employee was having fun and working hard. I just can't stress enough what a family feel you get with this crew.
We held our Kents Hill School Prom at The Barn, and it was a magnificent event. Gene and Veronica are so easy to work with and had everything that we needed. It was a night to remember!
Getting married at Silver Oaks Estate
Silver Oaks Estate comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
