This is one of those times when Googled Reviews needs 10 stars! We had the best time during our weekend visit. Our stay began with a warm welcome from the hosts followed by a tour of the main house. The main house is tastefully decorated with a mix of antiques and modern furniture.
The Shoofly Farm gets top marks all around. The main house has Southern beauty and modern design with several large, beautifully decorated sitting areas for guests to enjoy. The Farm has a rich history as it started as a poor farm (early 1900’s) with many of the original structures intact.
Our experience at Shoofly Farm was excellent! Louise and Sam were very warm and friendly. We were able to tour the guest suites in the main house and the common areas provide so much to enjoy. Breakfast served on the porch while enjoying the fall weather was so relaxing and Sam's warm biscuits were delicious!
Getting married at Shoofly Farm
Shoofly Farm comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
