What couples say again and again
“We had about 140 guests and it easily could have accommodated more but would be a beautiful place for a small, intimate wedding as well.”
From the reviews
Just had my wedding here in June, and it was amazing! My wife and I got to enjoy the best say of our lives! Tables and seating are provided, as well as some tools, cables, and signs if people are nice enough to leave what they have for someone else (we did to continue the tradition for the venue).
We had our wedding at shades of green in July 2021. It was perfect. We looked at many venues around Helena and kept coming back to this one. The large trees help keep a hot July day cool. There is a nice cabin to store drinks in. Plenty of room for tables and tents.
Amazing venue for weddings and pictures with the option of renting from March to October. Super fun and cute.
We held our entire wedding day here and it was perfect! The area is well maintained with plenty of space to spread out. They were very helpful in the planning process of giving us layouts, vendor recs, etc as we were planning from a distance. They also provide a day of contact person to assist with any questions.
Getting married at Shades of Green Events
Shades of Green Events comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
Corporate events & private parties at Shades of Green Events
Reviews and the venue's own info mention corporate events, retreats, or private parties at Shades of Green Events — barn venues often have real weekday availability since weddings claim the weekends. A quick call answers the three things that matter: weekday and off-season rates, whether the space works for your headcount and A/V needs, and what catering is allowed. If your event lands on a Friday or Saturday in wedding season, ask early.
