Some friends and I stopped by today to take some engagement photos (they have an upcoming wedding at Riverside Vines). It was lunchtime, so we decided to grab a bite to eat and have some wine first. Everything on the menu sounded delicious so I asked one of the wine stewards what I should order.
Riverside Vines was the perfect place for our summer 2024 wedding. This venue had everything we were looking for: beautiful views, flexibility, and driving distance from Richmond. We loved the waterfront ceremony, tasting room for cocktail hour, and clear-top tent for the reception.
I was there with friends, a total of six and we had a good time. Robert was very helpful recommending and describing the various offerings. The setting is beautiful and the atmosphere was great. On Saturday and Sundays they do have a small sampling of food items but we did not try any on our first visit.
We held our daughter's wedding reception at Riverside Vines. The staff at RSV were amazing. They went out of their way to make our event perfect. We used the Chalet for overnight accommodations. to much acclaim from the bride and bridesmaids. The food was great and the wine was fantastic. No complaints.
Getting married at Riverside Vines
Riverside Vines comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
