My wife and I got married at OHV on 11/4/23. Between the scenery inside and outside of the barn, that alone is impressive. But my biggest appreciation for OHV goes to Lorrie (Event/Venue Manager) who is a rockstar that is very organized and made my Type A personality relax a little.
I am not sure how anyone could pass this place up for weddings or events. It was a beautiful property and team of wonderful hosts for our wedding. Everything was taken care of from music to drinks, decor and more. We absolutely love OHV and will return for weekend events as offered. We love it here!
Old Homeplace Vineyard in Winston Salem is a wonderful venue! I recently photographed a wedding here, and it was fantastic. The scenery is breathtaking, with beautiful vineyards and serene landscapes. The venue offers both indoor and outdoor spaces, perfect for any wedding style.
Family owned winery and venue. They feature wine, beverages and the best strawberry cake I've ever eaten. The tasting room is in an old home that has been modified to accommodate visitors. There is a large deck in back of the tasting room looking out over a large lake.
Getting married at Old Homeplace Vineyard
Old Homeplace Vineyard comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
