The setting
“The cake, cutting ceremony and dancing were held in the historic barn which comes pre-lit with string lights for perfect ambience so we hardly needed to decorate the space.”
“We stayed in the Mountain View Suite, which was both cozy and spacious, offering incredible views of the full moon and a surrounding mountain scape.”
“We held our outdoor ceremony beneath a birch arch in the field surrounded by the woods, and as if on cue, the sun broke through just as we began to place the rings.”

From the reviews
We had our wedding at the MRC in June 2022. It is a stunning venue with professional staff who are passionate about what they do! Jackie and Kellsey were wonderful coordinators to work with.
My wife & I had the privilege to get married surrounded by our friends & family at the beautiful Montague Retreat Center in June of 2024. There’s a seemingly endless list of what drew us to MRC, but some key features to highlight: - Incredibly beautiful indoor & outdoor spaces - Comfortable, spacious, and accessible…
Our daughter and (now) son-in-law booked Montague for their August 3, 2019 wedding. They were attracted by the beautiful setting and the availability of camping on the property. We and the groom's parents loved having access to the property beginning on Wednesday and really being able to get the lay-of-the-land.
Where do I start...from the beginning we knew that MRC was going to be our wedding venue. We first met Jackie and Kellsey at a spring tasting event, where we were able to see them and their exclusive caterer, Wheelhouse, in action.
Getting married at Montague Retreat Center
Montague Retreat Center comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
Corporate events & private parties at Montague Retreat Center
Reviews and the venue's own info mention corporate events, retreats, or private parties at Montague Retreat Center — barn venues often have real weekday availability since weddings claim the weekends. A quick call answers the three things that matter: weekday and off-season rates, whether the space works for your headcount and A/V needs, and what catering is allowed. If your event lands on a Friday or Saturday in wedding season, ask early.
