From the reviews
I recently got married here. Sandy and marshal are AMAZING people. They made our wedding a breeze! The amount of passion they have into helping couples plan their wedding day, is amazing! My ceremony was supposed to be outside, but it had stormed and rained the whole day, we had to move the ceremony.
We found this Venue because my mom grew up in Hankinson, ND. She had told us we should come up and take a look as we had been looking for a lakeside venue. We called to setup a time to check it out and Sandy was very accommodating with showing us around last minute on our way in to town.
I don't even know where to begin with Lake Elsie Wedding Barn. This venue, these amazing owners, the superb food, and the overall environment was everything that we needed on our Wedding day.
Sandy and Marshall at Lady on the Lake/Colonel Hankinson's Historic Barn were beyond wonderful to work with! Everything was so easy to set up and do. There was little to no stress the day of. The only confusion we had during the process was some communication errors throughout the process.
Getting married at Lake Elsie Wedding Barn
Lake Elsie Wedding Barn comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
