From the reviews
Great place to tour, and the tour guide was super nice and fun to talk to. They have the incorrect times for the tours on their website. When we got there, they ended up doing a tour just for us, which was so nice.
My family spent 11 years volunteering for this historic plantation. They offer a glimpse into the past that is breathtaking. Every year they have special events. Sugar Day, Herb Day, all with the intent to spark the love of local history. We spent many days demonstrating how to make candles and soap.
Called ahead to reserve a spot for a tour (covid) the tour guide was amazing. Definitely worth the 11$. Learned so much in the 2 hours I was there
I loved the tour guides! They were knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. This was my first plantation tour and won't be my last. I loved the little gift shop as well. Great preserved artifacts. Thank you ladies! As an American descendant of slaves I feel that it's important to learn of our history.
Getting married at Kent Plantation House
Kent Plantation House comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
Corporate events & private parties at Kent Plantation House
Reviews and the venue's own info mention corporate events, retreats, or private parties at Kent Plantation House — barn venues often have real weekday availability since weddings claim the weekends. A quick call answers the three things that matter: weekday and off-season rates, whether the space works for your headcount and A/V needs, and what catering is allowed. If your event lands on a Friday or Saturday in wedding season, ask early.
