From the reviews
I was involved in a wedding at Hertzog Homestead and I have to say it would not have been the delightful success it was without all the extra work and care the entire staff put into it.
We just returned home from the Metzler Homestead with a much needed dose or relaxation and restoration. Merv and Amber are such gracious hosts, sharing the history, updates and future plans as they showed us around.
The wedding venue is gorgeous, and the B&B is comfy and cozy! Merv and Amber are the best hosts I've ever encountered! They were helpful and accommodating on our wedding weekend, helping everything flow smoothly and feel relaxed on our wedding day.
We stayed in the Meyer Suite, having stayed in the same room previously under different owners. The new owner was wonderful. The room was cozy and clean; the breakfast was delicious (and brought right to our door at a time of our choosing).
Getting married at Historic Metzler Homestead
Historic Metzler Homestead comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
Corporate events & private parties at Historic Metzler Homestead
Reviews and the venue's own info mention corporate events, retreats, or private parties at Historic Metzler Homestead — barn venues often have real weekday availability since weddings claim the weekends. A quick call answers the three things that matter: weekday and off-season rates, whether the space works for your headcount and A/V needs, and what catering is allowed. If your event lands on a Friday or Saturday in wedding season, ask early.
