From the reviews
My husband and I knew when we got engaged that we wanted to get married at Hilltop Farm, and I am so grateful that they had the weekend we wanted available. I have been with my husband for eleven years, and we met when we were in high school.
I recently toured the barn and future dairy bar with a very knowledgeable member of the Friends of the Farm at Hilltop. It is a beautiful property and a gem for Suffield.
A lesson on how it was a working dairy farm. Met a few people who are trying to preserve the history of it. It was also the home to the inventor of Indian motorcycles. There are also plans to have some vintage baseball games on the property this summer.
Finally got around to visit the creamery. I hadn't realized that they didn't make the ice cream on site, but rather they buy and resell (I believe it's Gifford's). Still good though! The view, however, is the best part of visiting Hilltop.
Getting married at Hilltop Farm
Hilltop Farm comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
Corporate events & private parties at Hilltop Farm
Reviews and the venue's own info mention corporate events, retreats, or private parties at Hilltop Farm — barn venues often have real weekday availability since weddings claim the weekends. A quick call answers the three things that matter: weekday and off-season rates, whether the space works for your headcount and A/V needs, and what catering is allowed. If your event lands on a Friday or Saturday in wedding season, ask early.
