We went for a two day trip over winter break and had a great time! I think two days for us with an overnight stay at the hotel was just the right amount of time with our 5 year old to see and do it all. The first day we did both the dairy and pig bus tours and enjoyed all the information.
I came here on a whim, just looking for a weekend getaway, but I honestly wasn't expecting much more than a place filled with kids and families. However, it turned out to be a way more interesting experience than I could have possibly imagined.
This was the halfway point to meet a friend. We are glad we chose Fair Oaks Farms! What an awesome, family oriented place. There was plenty of parking. As a teacher, l appreciated their set up that would delight any child. There were several buildings, including a restaurant and ice cream parlor.
Disappointed to start however it was pleasant. They are pet friendly. I was unsure about the lack of food until I had a nice conversation with an employee. Apparently they had a fire in Sept. of 2024. So the restaurant is not fully functioning as before. The ice cream is very good.
Getting married at Fair Oaks Farms
Fair Oaks Farms comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
