The setting
“The best part is discovering it since you can't really see if from the highway but then when you walk into the field it's like discovering your own secret garden.”
What couples say again and again
“It is a beautiful thing to see Meagan and Lara breathing life back into the Smith property and starting new traditions for Kansas families.”
“Lara was great about making sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond to make sure we had plenty of time to set up and clean up.”
From the reviews
We ended up having our small wedding ceremony and dinner in the Smithshop here. Lara was great about making sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond to make sure we had plenty of time to set up and clean up. We used the house for getting ready and it was absolutely perfect.
My son and daughter-in-law got married at Eleanor’s in February. We made a last minute call to Lara upon discovering the outdoor wedding was now going to be on the coldest day of the year. Lara was so helpful. Let us book everything 5 days before the wedding so we could change the venue location.
We had the privilege of having our wedding ceremony and reception at Eleanor’s. Lara was an absolute joy to work with and went above and beyond to make sure our big day was perfect, which made our lives much easier! So many of our guests complimented how gorgeous the tree grove and barn were too.
They transformed an old property into something magical. They are the nicest people too. This location is perfect for weddings and events. And I live in Scranton and am very thankful and excited to have such a beautiful attraction in our area. Well worth the visit.
Getting married at Eleanor's Farmhouse
Eleanor's Farmhouse comes up for weddings, going by their listing and couples’ reviews. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
