I attended a photography styled shoot here in January. The property was absolutely BEAUTIFUL, and provided a great background for our photos. The restrooms were also super nice!! 10/10 recommend this venue for any of your needs.
Our Mississippi State student organization had our end of the year banquet at Dodson this week and it was PERFECT! Nikki was outstanding to work with, the venue was gorgeous, and the suggested caterer was exceptional. No detail is left unnoticed from the fresh flowers in the restrooms to mints in the hallway.
This has to be the best venue in the Starkville/Golden Triangle area. With a beautiful landscape and multiple natural-light ceremony options, Dodson is a photo/video vendors dream.
Wedding for my Fiancé's cousin. It was awesome! Very organized and food and drinks were NONSTOP! We enjoyed ourselves and captured a lot of special Moments....

First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge.
