We booked their venue for September of 2022! We booked back in August of 2021 and it was like a race for the fall dates! Barn South is highly desired and for a good reason. Their space is clean and simple.
This venue is swoon worthy at every view! We had only seen one other venue when we began wedding planning and that was before we found Barn South. Once we met with Rachel and saw the space, we didn't need to see any more.
Barn wedding venues can be tricky for photographers for many reasons. Some have minimal natural lighting, or rely on string lights etc to do the job, meaning they're dark inside and hard to photograph. Some barns aren’t as spacious as they appear, especially when filled with tables, decor, and guests.
Beautiful venue! The grounds are lovely, and the set up for my niece's wedding was simply stunning. However, the barn is a hard space with concrete floors and metal walls and ceiling. It makes conversation difficult even when the music is quiet in the background.
Getting married at Barn South
Barn South comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
