From the reviews
This place is the stuff field trips are made of. There are many exhibits with informative material about blacksmithing, milking cows etcetera. Usually peacocks are the first things I see when I first enter. They make sounds of a crying child and wander around freely.
What a beautiful place to bring children and your family. It was fun to interact with the goats and chickens. There was a cultural dance event happening on Mother’s Day. There are plenty of spaces to bring a frisbee or toss a ball. The staff is friendly and the environment is clean.
Met and exceeded expectations. My kids (10 and 7) were in awe. They were adamant about visiting on a day when the train was running and we finally got it after a couple of trials and errors. The last train departure from the entrance is at 2:50 pm on Thursday and Friday; one more run at 3:30 pm happens on Sundays only.
Loved the farm. It is really historic. My daughter had a great time. Luckily we got train ride as well. Parking is free and entry fees is 6$ per adult and 4 for kids. No other charges. Considering Covid 19, everything was managed very well. I would say that you can spend 4-5 hours easily.
Getting married at Ardenwood Historic Farm
Ardenwood Historic Farm comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see it at the time of day you'd actually get married — a barn that glows at golden hour can feel very different at noon, and you'll want to walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move?), the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included with the rental — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular dates at barn venues book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
